Frosty Drew Observatory is located inside Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge in Charlestown, Rhode Island. Frosty Drew is open to the public every Friday night for observing through the telescopes if they sky is clear or for a presentation in the Sky Theater when conditions are less favorable. In the summertime, the observatory adds Wednesday night stargazing sessions. Amateur astronomers are encouraged to bring their own telescopes and binoculars for viewing and sharing. An EarthSky member said, “This location is known to have the darkest skies between Boston and New York. The views are incredible.”
