Over a few hours I watched a variety of birds feeding in cherry trees. This is male House Finch. It would pick at a blossom with its beak and/or feet, separate one blossom from the rest and with the stem end of it, sip the nectar from the blossom and then open it's mouth and let the blossom float to the ground. I first though all the blossoms on the ground were just dropping from the trees. Once studying the birds I realized all the blossoms on the grass were "picked" by the birds.
