A Bald Eagle's lifespan can be 15-25 years in the wild (a little longer in captivity), so it's amazing that this local male eagle, Fred, is almost 28 yrs. old! He is a banded, meaning a USGS-permitted raptor biologist collected him as a chick from the nest, and placed small bands on his legs, to aid in identification in the future. Wishing him a few more years!
