Sometimes, when conditions are perfect, clear, smooth ice forms on lakes—fleeting and spectacular when you can catch it. Walking on it was magical. Methane bubbles are in the foreground above the colorful rocks Waterton is known for. The iconic Prince of Wales hotel is in the background.
