USSF-124 classified government mission lifts off during the glow of approaching sunset, at 5:30 pm from SLC-40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Base on a Falcon 9 rocket on Valentines Day, February 14, 2024.
This mission includes missile warning satellites (Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor) for the US Missile Defense Agency. The intention of these satellites are to detect and track hypersonic missiles that have faint signatures.
