For years, I have tried to get good images of my favorite winter residents, the long-tail duck. Finally that chance came last week when a small number of them ignored me and swam right past my position on shore. As is typical in the avian world, the male is dressed to the nines, but his lady friend in full sunlight is quite attractive as well. In another month or so, they will head North to the Arctic to build a nest and raise a family.
