One of a pair of bald eagles on top of the rocky hills that jut out into the Pacific Ocean. The other pair had just flown away and this one is about to take off as well.
Bald eagles are not bald; the name derives from an older meaning of the word, "white headed". The adult is mainly brown with a white head and tail.
