A sparrow in our yard this morning. It rested momentarily on the branch of a myrtle tree. Like many other sparrows, this one which is most likely a house sparrow, use a scratch technique to search for food. That’s where they hop forward and quickly hop backward again, overturning the fallen leaves to peck any seeds, small insects and worms.
