Three and a Half Moons!

This season planet Jupiter has been in a series of close conjunctions with the moon over the course of the last couple of months giving us some beautiful and mesmerizing sights. Tonight the first quarter moon was in a close conjunction with planet Jupiter along with it's Galilean moons. Three of the four Galilean moons can be seen in this image along with our Moon which was almost half lit at 54% illumination making it a sight to behold. A passing by jet trail can also be seen in the upper mid of the picture.
