A beautiful black-tailed deer taking a break from feeding on grass and salal to pose. Blacktails as the name suggests have a wide, triangular tail with a dark brown or black top and a white underside. Although this blacktail was browsing at noon, usually at dawn, dusk, and moonlit nights, deer are seen browsing on the roadside. Wooded areas with forests on both sides of the road and open, grassy areas ie golf courses, attract deer.
