While out spotting eagles, I found a Tom Turkey in an odd spot, down by a canal along the Mohawk River. I think he was hiding until our Thanksgiving festivities, which are coincidentally tomorrow, are over! Very prominent from his chest is what is called a "beard", which is one of the tools for mate selection. They can indicate dominance & health.
