Image Details:

Aurora, Milky Way, lightning AND a Meteor! It might not be as colorful as in the more Northern regions on our planet, but for Central Colorado last night's Aurora was very special nevertheless. The sky turned pink and purple with a touch of green occasionally, while a late monsoon thunderstorm was still raging directly above the horizon, with lightning reflecting in the clouds. The Milky Way is sparkling in the right side of the image and the meteor (an early Perseid...?) suddenly streaking across the sky is definitely the icing on this celestial cake. ENJOY!!
