Image Details:

This beautiful little black-capped chickadee found a perch on the lilac bush just outside my office window as I worked. I stopped typing and reached for my camera, hoping he would remain there long enough for me to photograph his loveliness. He was just at eye level and I felt he noticed me, but he also stayed and graced me with his steady presence. (He remained on the twig for a full two minutes after I put down my camera.) What I noticed later when I viewed the photograph is how embraced he is by those just-unfurling lilac buds. I suppose it was really a double gift!
