One of my favorite owls to photograph, the Great horned owls, are large and thick bodied. They have tufts on their head, & with it being a windy afternoon, this ones tufts were blowing around. The Great horned owls are one of the most widespread & successful raptors in the USA. This one is sitting on a nest.
