Image Details:

I was looking for Mercury and Jupiter together in my 8x30 image stabilized binoculars. I found Mercury but I thought it was Jupiter. When I took the photos, I didn't see Jupiter until later. In binoculars, Jupiter looked like a distinct disk, wider than point-like Mercury. I was surprised Jupiter wasn't too much brighter than Mercury, in part because its light was spread out.
Mercury and Jupiter will be closer together tonight (Monday), but the weather forecast is for rain, so I went out Sunday evening to get this photo.
