Photographing a bald eagle couple on seperate trees, I was surprised when they both flew to a tree and proceeded to mate. Upon successful mating, the female will lay her first egg within five to ten days. So I went to the nest site six days later to check, and was happy to see her more than likely incubating. I will be checking back to make sure.
