Sun + Moon is chinese word "明" (means bright)
While volume of Sun is 400 times of Moon, its distance to Earth is also 400 times farther than Moon to Earth. An eyeview on Earth they are both of similar size.
This let human able to view total solar eclipse and total lunar eclipse.
