Image Details:

My wife and I went to check out a local Great Blue Heron rookery on March 13. There are 7 nests, and 2 were occupied, each by a pair of herons.

Here's one of the herons returning home after a long day of work. Actually, he had only been gone for about 10-15 minutes.

I particularly like the back-lit wings as he was landing.
