Image Details:

We traveled to Narragansett Tuesday evening to try and capture the moonrise over the rocky shoreline. The clouds had moved in on our way so we weren’t even sure we’d be able to see the moon before having to turn around and head back home. However, a glow began to grow from within the clouds and the moon started to peak through. I then began to see what looked like a pillar of light above the moon and was absolutely amazed! I have seen and captured sun pillars but I had no idea that you could also experience a moon pillar!! I was very excited to have captured another celestial phenomenon I had not previously experienced.
