Equipment Details:

This was taken with a Nikon D810A DSLR camera though a Stellarvue 152mm astrograph scope (triplet refractor). The tracking mount was an Astro-Physics Mach2 and I was also guiding.

Post-processing Details:

I used Star XTerminator in PixInsight to separate the stars from the nebulosity. I tightened the stars with Blur Xterminator and stretched the nebula image with Historgram Transformation. Then I used Pixel Math to recombine them into one image.

Image Details:

This is a reprocessing of an image a couple of months old. It's the Flame and Horse Head Nebulae in Orion. I showed it to Claudia Crowley and she suggested I submit it even though it wasn't taken in the last few days. The date I entered is the date and time of the reprocessing. It's about 8 hours of five-minute images, stacked.
