Going for a little winter hike, I spotted a group of white tailed deer hanging out in the snow. With snow on the ground, there was a snowstorm forcasted for the following day. An interesting fact is that one way for them to stay warm in the winter is by growing a thicker coat of fur. Deer also have a layer of fat under their skin that helps to keep them warm.
