I thought I'd be taking pictures of the Moon surrounded by Mars, Pleiades, and Alderbaran but after hearing how visible aurora was, I captured this instead! A rare and special treat for us in southwest Michigan. It was a soft muted pink to the naked eye, with a light greenish glow underneath. So glad to have seen my first Northern Lights, on a beach I've grown up going to. A new favorite memory.
