Seals haul out on the Jersey Shore from late fall to early spring. Today, there was a group of about 50 Harbor Seals on one of their favorite jetties. This area is protected, as it is just beyond a gate and far enough into the bay that humans can’t get to them. If you encounter a seal in the wild, be sure to give them at least 150 feet of space.
