Image Details:

I have been following this pair of hooded mergansers to take their image. They are industriously catching fish, suddenly diving down the river, constantly moving. Both male and the female hooded mergansers have flamboyant hoods or crests. The male has a black and white crest, the female cinnamon, reddish brown. They can lower or raise their crests which changes the shape of their heads.
