One of the late bloomers in my cacti collection. This is commonly called an Eagle's Claw or Turk's Head cactus. Latin name - Echinocactus horizonthalonius.
It is native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico, where it occurs in Chihuahuan Desert and Sonoran Desert habitats.
