I am fortunate to live a 15 minute drive from the Albany Pine Bush Preserve, one of the largest of the 20 inland barrens in the world. Yearly, it is the home for a tiny endangered butterfly, the Karner Blue butterfly. The Wild Blue Lupine grows there yearly, which is needed for the butterly for it's larvae.
