Image Details:

Close-up of Jupiter-Mars conjunction on 30th May. Jupiter and Mars were very close together on Sunday 29th and Monday 30th May. Sunday was partly cloudy but on Monday perfectly clear conditions provided an uninterrupted view of the conjunction between 3 and 6 am. While it was still dark careful exposures taken at almost maximum zoom magnification with my camera mounted on a sturdy tripod provided some spectacular images of Jupiter with 4 moons visible a short distance above and to the left of Mars.
