This is one of the many waterfalls along the Wailuku River above Hilo township. Wailuku means Crazy River in Hawaiian. It is know for its flash flooding during the raining season. This particular fall can be accessed via some rock scrambling along the edge of the Wailuku gulch. We took a couple of bumps and spills to get to the base of this fall. We first spotted this waterfall from the air (https://youtu.be/U4ViTNd_zhU) and decided to look for it. There are many other falls within this river and much easier to get to but you have to bear with the crowds.
