Laughing Gull (Leucophaeus atricilla) calls are a familiar sound of summer here on the East Coast. They have begun to arrive en masse in the past month, ready to select a partner and set up nests! Recently, I watched this pair performing a courtship dance in a parking lot at the Ocean City, MD Inlet parking lot. They did a fun dance and this display was part of the routine.
