This is a composite of five images; four phases of the eclipse and a starry image taken the same day. The three crescents on the side were rotated and flipped and then stacked on top of the starry image to create this assemblage.

Image Details:

One of the coolest things about an event like a lunar eclipse is realizing how MANY people are experiencing the beauty of the moon at the same exact time!!

Unfortunately much of the northeast had rain which prevented us from seeing the eclipse from start to finish. Around 2:45 the clouds began to dissipate to reveal the beautiful event but I was only able to see the eclipse for about an hour and a half. As such, artistic license in full effect to create this image.
