I was intrigued by this patch of rainbow colours peeking out from the morning clouds over Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong. After some reading on EarthSky and Atmospheric Optics, my guess is this could be part of a 22-degree solar halo. In the main image, the hidden sun's position can be estimated from the position of the halo edge near the photo centre and the sun's rays to the top right of the photo. The insert shows a close-up of the observable halo segment.
