A very bright moon (luckily we had clear skies), it is the Full Harvest Moon. Before electricity it was very important, providing much-needed light for the farmer to harvest the crops. Also known as the Barley Moon, Nut Moon, & Big Moon. The second photo was taken at 7:54 EDT, the exact time of the full moon.
