Image Details:

The Lagoon Nebula (Messier 8) is a bright emission nebulae that contains an open star cluster. The Trifid Nebula (Messier 20) is comprised of an open star cluster, an emission nebula, a reflection nebula, and a dark nebula. Both Messier 8 and Messier 20 contain stellar nurseries and are located in nebula-rich Sagittarius. Three additional open star clusters (Messier 22, NGC 6546, and NGC 6544) are also visible. This is one of my favorite regions of the summer sky to observe and image.
