Smoke filtered sun. This was taken almost an hour after sunrise. Air quality has deteriorated rapidly the last couple days in Washington as a result of smoke from wildfires in the north-central part of the state. The two major lightning-caused fires have been burning since the second week of July and both are only around 24% contained as of today. The smoke is so thick that the view beyond the near hill out my back door is totally obscured.
