The legendary Messier 45 is back into the pre-dawn sky!
The Pleiades is astronomy's most favorable celestial object whether you observe with the unaided eye, a pair of binoculars or through a small aperture telescope, the last would reveal more stars. Every culture has a story to tell about their formation or existence. The Pleiades has deep roots in the ancient cultures around the globe. According to Arabic almanac it's dubbed with Al Thuraya (the chandelier or the highest). What's the story you can tell about it according to your culture?
The Pleiades, also known as The Seven Sisters, Matariki, and Messier 45, is an open star cluster containing middle-aged, hot B-type stars in the north-west of the constellation Taurus. It is among the star clusters nearest to Earth, it is the nearest Messier object to Earth, and is the cluster most obvious to the naked eye in the night sky.
