June 20th is a special day for Bald Eagles! It was officially selected as the national symbol of the United States on this day in 1782. 225 years later, on the same date, the Bald Eagle was officially removed from the Endangered Species List. I am very fortunate to be able to see them around my area in Upstate NY.
