Equipment Details:

Nikon Z8 with 600mm prime Nikon lens, Nikon Z7ii with 20mm prime Nikon lens, both shot at ISO 640, 1/400th of a second, images taken simultaneously

Post-processing Details:

two cameras were operated simultaneously to capture this image, one with a 600mm lens focused on the solar disc, the second with a 20mm lens to capture the entire landscape and umbral shadow. Both were actuated simultaneously to record the full scene. The images were combined with partial reduction of the solar disc to more closely match the landscape, however it is still overstated in size here by approximately a factor of five. No AI or computer generated content is used.

Image Details:

This is close to the moment of maximum eclipse as seen in Quebec. I woke up in Vermont but drove 300 miles to avoid high clouds, and finally about a half hour before the eclipse started found this beautiful view in Magog, Quebec. A town beach on a lake was close, but oddly no one else was on this bridge over a river that leads into the lake.
