Post-processing Details:

GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) on GNU/Linux. (1) Levels adjustment to improve contrast; (2) slight increase in saturation to improve color density, which looked a bit washed out; (3) crop to 3,000 x 2,600 from the original at 3,120 x 4,160, which also changed the image orientation from portrait to landscape.

Image Details:

I was driving my car around 12:56 pm last Friday as I went out to do some errands, and two blocks away from home I saw this green iguana crawling near the sidewalk. This specimen is similar to others I saw in previous occasions [see ECP #51154 and #53976] at exactly the same location just across a baseball park. Green iguanas (scientific name: Iguana iguana) can display a variety of colors, like this one which sports orange highlights throughout its head, spines and front legs. These iguanas are seasoned tree climbers, and a couple of seconds after I took this photograph the animal ran away and quickly jumped into a nearby tree.
