At this time of year the Peregrine Falcons are mating. A mated pair has been on this same cliff side area for years. Last year's brood was four healthy chicks that have gone off to find their own territory. This is the female of the pair. She was waiting on the cliff for him to return to bring food and then mating. He was a no show and she finally flew off to another part of the cliff near their nest. She's very patient. I saw her waiting hours for him a few days ago. Peregrine Falcons are not only beautiful birds but also the fastest birds in the world reaching speeds of over 200mph.
