Last night's full moon was the Beaver moon. I used my Celestron EdgeHD 9.25" telescope to capture hundreds of photos using a ZWO ASI294MM Pro monochrome camera. At a focal length of 1.635 meters, I couldn't fit the entire moon in a single shot, so I took photos of the top 4/5ths and the bottom 4/5ths, about 100 per red, green, and blue filter.
For each filter I used software (AstroSurface) that helps me manually align the bottom and top parts to match (craters are helpful guides) so I could blend the halves to make a single shot. I ended up with the full disk in red, green, and blue, so the last step was to align each filter and blend them to create a color image.
