A beautiful aurora quickly appeared and dissipated over about one hour. This image, looking north over the glassy Ottawa River, shows a bright meteor track passing Polaris and the Big Dipper near the peak period of the auroral display. I could not align this meteor to any of the common November meteor showers; it appears to be heading roughly towards the Leonid's radiant.
