This is the second time this has happened to me. The first was when I photoed the Aurora Borealis by accident last February. I am at 38.5 deg N. You don't see the Aurora here unless you take a photograph. The red color is due to the low latitude it is my understanding. So, I was out experimenting with different lenses last night. This time I knew what the reg glow was. And, it corresponds with an item in the newsletter for today talking about sun activity getting to earth today. These kinds of photos are awe inspiring.
