Since I’m up here in the NE, I can only watch the TV reports on the eclipse, which are quite good. So, I thought I’d reminisce about an actual annular eclipse I saw at a border junction crossing at Antelope Wells, NM. The actual center line was just over the Mexican border, but we had no documents. So, we decided not to chance a run in with the local police and stay where we were. There was three of us, and the only others there were three physicists from San Francisco. They made it even more interesting for us with their solar incites. It was a perfectly clear morning. After it was over, we headed to Mt. Lemon for an astronomical weekend.
