Mercury and Regulus form Close Pair.
On Friday 28th July, Mercury and Regulus formed a close pair in the vicinity of bright Venus with Mars above – more information at https://earthsky.org/tonight/mercury-and-regulus-form-a-close-pair-on-july-28-2023/ This Southern hemisphere view of the trio with the Leo star Algieba to the right was taken from Mutare at 6.14 pm with a fading volcanic sunset behind Christmas Pass illuminating thin high cloud above Transmitter Hill.
