Dancing trees, wind-blown clouds, swifts chasing each other across the sky ... while an almost full white Moon rises next to Vesuvius in the blue sky.

It is the Moon of 1 July, taken not far from the feet of the Lord of Naples and when the Sun was still a few degrees above the horizon.

The trees are those of Mount Somma and the reddish colour of the steep slope reveals the nature of the cone of Vesuvius set further back with its trident "cognolo" of 1944.
