Facing South, we see two stars Rigil Kent which is one of the three star systems in the Alpha Centauri which is in the southern constellation of Centaurus. It is also known as Rigil Kantaurus which means "foot of the centaur".
The orher star is Hadar which is the second of the two pointers in Centaurus that points the way to the Southern Cross. It's also much further away than Alpha Centauri. It's a type-B star and about 10,000 times brighter than the sun.
