The only two dark sky spots in Utah during this month's New Moon Phase were either 100 miles to The Knolls from my home or 300 miles down to St. George. Both areas are Class 1-2 Bortle. The easy decision was the 100 miles trip. I set the alarm for 1230 AM Thursday, got up, hit the road, arrived at 220AM, picked a spot, set up 3 cameras on tripods with star trackers and got busy. By 530AM the pics were coming out with predawn blues even though I saw darkness. So I packed up, drove 90 miles into Salt Lake City for day's work. Sleep?...who needs sleep during a New Moon phase? Not me! if there's some clear skies nearby.

Single exposure, no stacking, plenty of green airglow with some magenta bands mixed in.
