The Lunar Occultation of Venus on March 24th was fortunately observable in Taiwan. Due to the weather conditions, I took the high-speed rail to Tainan, which is 300 kilometers away. Although there was still some thin cloud interference, it did not affect the shooting much. This composite photo records the changes in the distance between Venus and the Moon within 83 minutes. After the sunset, the very bright Venus and the thin crescent Moon appeared at the same time, and their distance exceeded one moon diameter. As the moon moves relatively slowly in the sky due to its revolution, it can be seen from the picture that Venus slowly catches up with the moon. Finally, at 7:50:35 pm, Venus made contact with the Moon and gradually darkened before disappearing behind the moon. The entire occultation process took about 40 seconds, because Venus is not just a dot, but has a disk size! I am very happy to have recorded this rare celestial event.
