Messier 48 near the Hydra constellation and to the left of the star Sirius. It's an open cluster with about 80 stars visible easily to binoculars or small telescopes. More than 50 stars are magnitude 13 or brighter. It's about 1,500 LY away and approximately 24 LY across. Estimated at 300 million years old which is young in stellar terms which is why there are many blue young stars.
