Occasion : โ€œLo-Gsarโ€ (LOSAR or New Year) as per the lunisolar Tibetan Calendar.
Location : Photograph is captured from the hills of Kupup, Sikkim at an altitude of 13025ft from mean sea level.* Kupup is the nearest village of Dokalam, China. The worldโ€™s highest Golf Course is also situated herein Army Camp as the Guiness Book of World Record.
Trip Partner : Four Sikkimese Friend on a picnic mood and Myself as Sky Lover.
Story : After visiting the Trout Farm ar Menmoitso, Sikkim I found the place maybe suitable for Carnivorus Danish Trout or Kashmiri Trout farming, even local Brown Trout may also be happy here, but milkyway shooting is not possible here. So, I changed mind and went to Kupup, Sikkim.
We started eating like a monster, because the reciepe was Pork Kebab in firewood and Rice with Phaksha-Pa and Dolle Khursani (Local Chilli). After heavy lunch we started climbing steep stairs and caught the oxygen deficiency attack, for moment we thought our journey ends up here only. But fortunately with the help of Fishery Man we again started journey and reached somehow to Kupup. Homestay.
Though it was a festive mood in the host family but still sky was completely clouded and after 9pm it started raining and I winded up my total set up to the room in front of room heater. Headache was gaining like anything. Tried a lot but could not sleep. Fortunately around 2:30 pm we a few stars from with frosted window. Thus the actual story begins, I jumped and started resetting everything at the garden area (the only possible area to shoot) because going outside was risky for wild bear attacks. After doing the polar alignment around 3:30 AM total sky was clouded and I waited till 4:30 and I SAW THE MILKYWAY, gorgeous, bright and vibrant core of our home galaxy. It is not possible for me to explain my happiness and but my friend Basudeb did it in the post processing on his own individual skill, knowledge and love for the sky.
With the great pleasure I started capturing few Short Exposures of 60minutes just to avoid the cloud hindrances in intermediate frame. Every good thing has an end, so it ended with ray of sunshine and thus Lo-Gsar started spreading fragrances of happiness everywhere.
